Terms of service
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2 October 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Lumi website and to purchases of products and services from Lumi.
Lumi (“Lumi”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a brand operated by SVT Technologies Private Limited in Singapore.
By accessing our website, placing an order, accepting a quotation or purchasing a product or service from Lumi, you agree to these Terms together with any applicable quotation, product information, Returns & Refunds Policy, Warranty Policy, Delivery Policy and Privacy Policy.
Please read these Terms before placing an order.
1. Our Website
We provide this website for customers to:
-
browse and purchase lighting products;
-
obtain product information;
-
request lighting installation services;
-
contact Lumi; and
-
access information relating to orders, delivery, returns and warranties.
We may update, modify or discontinue parts of the website from time to time.
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available without interruption or error.
2. Products
We aim to describe our products clearly and accurately.
Product information may include specifications such as:
-
dimensions;
-
wattage;
-
lumen output;
-
colour temperature;
-
beam angle;
-
finish;
-
cut-out size;
-
electrical requirements; and
-
other technical information.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the relevant product information before ordering.
If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable or compatible with an existing installation, please contact Lumi before purchasing.
Photographs are provided as a visual guide. Actual colour, finish or appearance may vary slightly because of lighting conditions, manufacturing variation and differences between screens.
We may update product specifications or discontinue products where reasonably necessary.
3. Product Availability
Products are subject to availability.
Adding a product to your cart does not reserve the product.
If a product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you and may offer:
-
an alternative product;
-
a revised delivery timeframe; or
-
cancellation and refund of the affected item.
We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
4. Prices
Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on the website are in Singapore Dollars (S$).
All customer-facing prices are inclusive of GST. Any GST shown in a checkout, order or tax breakdown is included in the displayed price and is not added on top.
The price applicable to an online order is the price shown when the order is placed, subject to correction of genuine and obvious errors.
Delivery, installation or other additional charges are separate unless expressly stated as included.
Any applicable delivery charge will be shown before checkout is completed.
Installation prices are quoted separately according to the required scope of work and are GST-inclusive.
5. Obvious Pricing or Listing Errors
We take reasonable care to ensure prices and product information are accurate.
If a genuine and obvious error occurs in a price, product description, promotion or other material information, we may contact you before fulfilling the affected order.
Where appropriate, we may give you the option to:
-
proceed on the corrected terms; or
-
cancel the affected item or order for a refund.
We will not use this provision to avoid honouring a genuine advertised price merely because the transaction later becomes commercially inconvenient.
6. Orders
Submitting an order through the website is an offer to purchase the selected products.
An automated order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order. It does not prevent us from contacting you if there is a genuine issue involving:
-
product availability;
-
incorrect or incomplete information;
-
suspected fraud;
-
an obvious pricing or listing error; or
-
an inability to fulfil the order.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary and permitted by law.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received and the relevant goods or services have not been supplied, the applicable amount will be refunded.
7. Payment
Online product orders must be paid using the payment methods available through Shopify checkout.
Available payment methods may vary from time to time.
Payment must be successfully authorised before an online product order is processed.
Separately quoted installation or project work may be paid through a Shopify checkout or payment link for the agreed amount.
Do not send payment details directly to Lumi unless we specifically provide an authorised payment method.
8. Delivery
Lumi currently delivers within Singapore only.
Delivery charges, eligibility for free delivery, estimated delivery timing and related conditions are set out in our Delivery Policy.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
product delivery and installation are separate services; and
-
purchasing a product does not automatically include installation.
Delivery dates and timeframes are estimates unless Lumi expressly confirms otherwise in writing.
9. Risk and Responsibility for Products
Responsibility for a product passes to you when it is delivered to the delivery address provided for the order, subject to any rights you may have in relation to defective, damaged or incorrect products.
Please inspect delivered products as soon as reasonably possible.
If a product arrives visibly damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please do not install it and contact Lumi promptly.
10. Installation Services
Lumi provides lighting installation services in Singapore.
Installation is optional and is normally quoted separately from the purchase of products.
A product can be purchased from Lumi without purchasing installation.
Installation quotations may take into account:
-
type and quantity of lights;
-
whether the work involves replacement or new installation;
-
existing lighting points;
-
wiring requirements;
-
ceiling and wall conditions;
-
access;
-
working height;
-
site conditions; and
-
other work reasonably required to complete the agreed scope.
Photos and information provided before quotation are used to help assess the work required.
A quotation is based on the information reasonably available at the time it is prepared.
11. Installation Quotations
Quotes are valid for 7 days unless the quotation states otherwise.
The applicable installation scope, price and exclusions will be stated in the quotation or other written confirmation provided by Lumi.
Unless otherwise stated, a quotation does not include work outside the stated scope.
We will explain additional work and price before proceeding and obtain your approval, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety.
12. Installation Scheduling
Full payment is required before scheduling unless an exception is expressly authorised in your quotation.
Appointment availability may depend on:
-
project size;
-
location;
-
manpower;
-
product availability; and
-
other operational circumstances.
Lumi will confirm the agreed installation date or appointment window directly with the customer.
13. Customer Responsibilities for Installation
Customers are responsible for providing:
-
accurate site and contact information;
-
reasonable access to the work area;
-
information about known site restrictions;
-
relevant management or building access approvals where required; and
-
a reasonably safe working environment.
Unless included in the quotation, customers are responsible for obtaining any permissions required from building management, landlords or other relevant parties.
Customers should remove or protect fragile or valuable belongings around the work area before installation begins.
14. Existing Site Conditions
Lighting installation may interact with existing wiring, ceilings, walls, fittings and other building elements.
Lumi is not responsible for pre-existing defects or conditions that were not caused by Lumi's work.
Examples may include:
-
defective existing wiring;
-
unsuitable or deteriorated electrical components;
-
concealed damage;
-
water ingress;
-
weak or damaged ceiling substrates;
-
previous unauthorised modifications; or
-
work previously performed by other parties.
If such a condition affects the agreed work, Lumi will explain the issue and, where appropriate, provide options before additional work proceeds.
15. Changes to Installation Work
Changes to an agreed installation scope should be confirmed before the additional or revised work proceeds.
A variation may result in:
-
an additional charge;
-
a reduction in price;
-
a change to materials;
-
a change to the completion timeframe; or
-
rescheduling.
Additional work and customer approval are handled as set out in section 11.
16. Installation Rescheduling
Where possible, installation appointments may be rescheduled without charge when at least 48 hours' notice is provided.
Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, or where our team cannot reasonably perform the work after arriving because access or required site conditions were not provided, reasonable rescheduling or attendance charges may apply.
Any applicable charge will be explained before another appointment is arranged.
17. Returns and Refunds
Change-of-mind returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Eligible change-of-mind returns must generally be requested within 7 days of delivery and satisfy the eligibility requirements stated in that policy.
Different rules apply where goods are:
-
defective;
-
damaged;
-
incomplete; or
-
supplied incorrectly.
Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Product Warranty
Lumi lighting products include a 12-month product warranty from delivery unless a different warranty period is clearly stated for the particular product or order.
The applicable terms, coverage and exclusions are set out in our Warranty Policy.
Warranty coverage is separate from any statutory rights or remedies available under Singapore law.
19. Workmanship Warranty
Eligible installation workmanship is covered for 6 months from completion, unless a different period is expressly stated in writing for the specific work.
This applies to faults directly caused by Lumi's installation work within the agreed scope.
It does not cover unrelated pre-existing defects, subsequent work by other parties or matters outside Lumi's agreed scope.
Full terms are set out in our Warranty Policy.
20. Defective Products and Consumer Rights
If goods supplied by Lumi do not conform to the applicable contract or are defective, you may have rights and remedies under Singapore consumer protection law.
Depending on the circumstances, remedies may include repair, replacement, reduction in price or refund.
Our Returns, Refunds and Warranty policies do not remove rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
21. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions, vouchers and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions communicated with the relevant promotion.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
promotions apply only during the stated promotional period;
-
discount codes have no cash value;
-
eligibility requirements must be satisfied;
-
discount codes cannot be combined unless expressly permitted; and
-
a promotion may be limited to specified products or orders.
Where promotional terms conflict with these general Terms, the specific promotional terms apply to that promotion.
22. Customer Accounts
Where customer accounts are available, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access information.
Please notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
You may also be able to purchase from Lumi using guest checkout.
23. Acceptable Use of the Website
You must not knowingly use our website:
-
for unlawful or fraudulent activity;
-
to interfere with website security or operation;
-
to introduce malicious software;
-
to attempt unauthorised access to systems or data;
-
to impersonate another person;
-
to submit intentionally false information; or
-
in a manner that infringes the rights of Lumi or another party.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect our customers, systems or business.
24. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, content created for the Lumi website, including branding, written content, graphics and original photographs, belongs to Lumi, SVT Technologies Private Limited or the relevant rights holder.
You may use the website for personal shopping and informational purposes.
You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit or misrepresent our protected content without permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks, product names and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
25. Third-Party Services
The website may use or link to third-party services, including:
-
Shopify;
-
payment providers;
-
delivery providers;
-
communication platforms; and
-
social media platforms.
Your use of an independent third-party service may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policies.
Lumi is not responsible for independent third-party services outside our reasonable control.
26. Personal Data
Our collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable Singapore data-protection law.
By providing information to us, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
27. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
To the extent permitted by law, Lumi is not responsible for losses resulting solely from:
-
misuse of a product;
-
use contrary to published specifications or instructions;
-
unauthorised modification;
-
improper installation by another party;
-
existing site defects not caused by Lumi;
-
events outside our reasonable control; or
-
inaccurate information supplied by the customer where Lumi reasonably relied on that information.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer rights or remedies.
28. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
-
severe weather;
-
building or site restrictions;
-
transport disruption;
-
supply-chain interruption;
-
utility or telecommunications failure;
-
government action;
-
emergencies; or
-
other comparable events.
Where such an event materially affects an order or installation, we will take reasonable steps to communicate with you and arrange an appropriate next step.
29. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in:
-
our products or services;
-
our website;
-
operational practices; or
-
applicable requirements.
The version applicable to an order or transaction will generally be the version in effect when that transaction is entered into, unless a change must apply because of law or is otherwise agreed.
The latest version will be published on our website.
30. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
Any dispute relating to these Terms, our products or our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Singapore courts, subject to any applicable rights to use other dispute-resolution processes.
