Choosing a light involves more than its appearance. Check the specifications, replacement requirements and warranty before ordering so that the fitting suits your space and expectations.
Make a replacement record
Keep one record per model: order number, product link, variant, dimensions, lamp or driver model and any written compatibility confirmation. For example, “living-room fitting, white finish, separate lamp, lamp model to be confirmed” is more useful than “white spotlight”. Leave unknown fields marked unknown until the supplier confirms them.
Compare ownership as well as purchase price
Ask what happens when a lamp, driver or complete fitting needs replacement. Identify which components are replaceable in the chosen product and whether they remain accessible after installation. A lower unit price can be less useful if the installation makes routine replacement difficult.
Use specifications, not assumptions
Compare the stated dimensions, lamp type, power requirements and finish on the product page. Ask LUMI to confirm any missing information. A photograph or product category alone does not establish an IP rating, dimming compatibility, expected lifespan or suitability for outdoor use.
Measure the existing fitting
For recessed lighting, record the ceiling cut-out, outer dimensions and available depth. Share photographs of the existing fitting and its label with LUMI. Browse our downlight range and confirm fit before ordering.
Know the warranty period
LUMI decorative lighting products carry a 3-month warranty; other lighting products carry a 6-month warranty, subject to the applicable policy terms. Warranty duration is not a statement of expected product lifespan. Read the warranty policy for coverage, exclusions and claim requirements.
