When replacing a spotlight, identify what you are buying: the lamp that produces light, the fixture that holds it, or both. A title containing “MR16/GU10” is not enough to confirm the complete electrical and physical fit.
Separate the four parts
- Fixture: the body, trim and mounting arrangement.
- Lamp: the replaceable light source, with its own dimensions and rated power.
- Holder: the connection that must match the lamp base.
- Supply and controls: the electrical arrangement required by that exact lamp and any dimming equipment.
Check each item in the product description and supplied-component list. A photograph of a fixture does not establish that a lamp or power component is included.
Use the exact lamp specification
LUMI’s 4 W LED spotlight is listed with a GU10 base, 220 V AC rating and dimensions of 50 mm diameter × 50 mm height. These are specifications for that product, not rules for every lamp sold under an MR16 or GU10 description.
Match the base, voltage, dimensions and control requirements to the proposed holder and installation. Ask your installer to identify concealed components; do not remove a wired fitting to investigate them yourself.
Buying a fixture with a separate lamp
The adjustable downlight fixture and track-light fixture list the GU10 bulb as not included. Include the compatible lamp in your order plan, then check the fixture’s mounting and adjustment space.
For a recessed fitting, confirm the ceiling opening and required installation depth. For a track head, confirm the exact track system as well. A matching lamp base does not prove that a head fits your existing track.
Send this checklist before ordering
- The existing lamp and fixture model, with photographs of safely accessible labels.
- The proposed product links and quantities.
- The holder, supply and controls, where known.
- The ceiling cut-out, available depth or track-system details.
- A list of what is included and what must be supplied separately.
Keep the confirmed combination with your order record so a future replacement is easier to identify. Ask LUMI to check the product details before ordering; electrical installation is quoted separately.
