View the full-size illustration. Planning illustration, not an installation drawing.
Start with where the light needs to go and how it will be mounted. The best shortlist depends on your ceiling, furniture layout and the activity in each part of the room.
Compare the three approaches
| Approach | Useful starting point | Main check |
|---|---|---|
| Downlights | Recessed fittings within a ceiling | Opening, depth and lamp or driver requirements |
| Spotlights | Light directed towards a particular subject | Actual beam, adjustment and mounting |
| Track lighting | Several heads on a shared track arrangement | Exact track interface, feed, connectors and compatible heads |
These categories can overlap: a recessed downlight may also be adjustable and directional. Compare the actual fitting’s function rather than treating each label as a fixed performance claim.
Mix types with a clear purpose
A living area might use one group for general light and another for artwork or a reading area. This is an illustrative planning approach, not a fixed product quantity. Separating the functions can let you change the mood without replacing every fitting; confirm the wiring and controls with the installer.
Before choosing a system
- Mark the areas and objects to illuminate.
- Confirm mounting, ceiling access and space.
- List every lamp, driver and accessory.
- Compare the total supply and installation scope.
Make a room-specific comparison
For each option, record mounting requirements, direction, lamp or driver needs, controls, quantity and installation scope. Compare the complete quoted arrangement rather than the price of one component.
Send a layout and photographs through LUMI’s contact page. We can confirm product information; any installation scope and price should be agreed in a separate quotation.
